Walker Percy used the term "Knotheads" in the novel Love in the Ruins to describe conservatives in the not-too-distant future.
While the liberal remnants the Lefts, with their complaints of "sexual impotence, morning terror, and a feeling of abstraction of the self from itself", the Knotheads had their "unseasonable rages, delusions of conspiracies, high blood pressure, and large bowel complaints"...
I can relate, Mr. Percy.
